Editorial policy

Every procedural page on UK IMG Navigator is written from primary sources, reviewed by a named reviewer, dated, and refreshed on a documented cadence. If the primary source and our page disagree, the primary source wins and we publish a correction.

Source hierarchy

  1. Official regulator (GMC, exam board, Intealth/ECFMG, UKVI).
  2. Official NHS or UK Government publications.
  3. Named professional body guidance (BMA, Royal Colleges, HEE).
  4. Peer-reviewed literature or government statistics.
  5. Verified practitioner experience, clearly labelled as such.

Writing and review

  • Every page carries a visible author and reviewer.
  • Reviewers hold relevant pathway experience; profiles are public.
  • Every claim is traceable to a linked official source.
  • Direct answer under H1 (40–80 words), then applicability, requirements, steps, costs, common failure points and sources.

Review cadence

High-volatility topics (fees, exam dates, PLAB 2 deadlines, visa rules) are reviewed monthly. Structural topics (registration branches, qualification acceptance) are reviewed quarterly. All pages are reviewed at least every 12 months.

Corrections

Material changes are logged in the public change log. To report an inaccuracy, see our corrections page.

Independence
