Applying for provisional GMC registration

Provisional GMC registration is for doctors without an acceptable internship. It lets you work only as a Foundation Year 1 (F1) doctor in an approved post. You typically have three years to convert to full registration after 12 months of approved F1 experience with supervisor sign-off.

Who this applies to

  • Doctors whose internship isn't acceptable to the GMC.
  • Doctors who never completed a post-graduation internship.
